All Hail The King Of Poundland

In a rather bizzare investigation it turns out that shops such as Poundland and Furnitureland are in fact sovereign states with their own laws, leaders and language. Soon you will need a passport and in the case of Pet Food Kingdom, a visa, just to shop there. Theme parks are also following suit and announcing independency from the United Kingdom.

I presume from the insignia over the door that the Poundland King wears an ivy wreath, a bit like the Roman Emporers?

Yes, Thats true. Also the currency is the poundland pound (£) and even though £1 (PL) = £1 (sterling) the PL £ seems to stretch a lot further.

Yes! Everything IS one pound!
Though I think you are getting muddled up with Poundstretchers :-p

Stretch probably wasn't the right word, but double bill dvd's are only a pound at poundland, and things that you can pick up tennis balls with. You wouldn't get that in a British shop.
